We collaborate with artists and communities to bring exceptional arts to familiar outdoor spaces. Each year, Applause commissions small-scale shows, specifically developed for outdoor events, and tours this work across the south east.
We offer these professional, exciting and unique performances to a range of promoters including small village fetes and community events (who benefit from our touring subsidy) as well as larger established events and festivals.
Success with outdoor touring
The Applause Outdoors Programme helps the creation and development of new outdoor touring shows each year and has invested more than £80,000 in artist commissioning over the last three years. Applause provides not only funding but advice and assistance to new and established artists to explore ideas, grow their practice and tour more widely.

“It has made a huge impact, we have been able to create small-scale work with Applause’s support, that has gone on to tour more widely from it being part of the programme”
