Applause collaborates with artists and communities to bring exceptional arts to familiar local spaces. We tour shows to village halls and community centres across Kent, Sussex, and Essex. Working with brilliant performing companies and a network of local volunteer promoters, providing audiences with direct access to live performance right on their rural doorstep.
For indoor venues, we curate a range of exciting and inspiring shows. Our programming includes adaptations of classic dramas, delightful puppetry for families, humorous storytelling, new writing, adaptations of beloved children’s books, contemporary dance, and a variety of music genres—from classical, folk, and jazz to Latin rumbas, Cajun, and Country.
The emphasis is on quality, because the hosts and venues work hard to make these performances happen, so they deserve it.
How to get involved
The submission period for touring indoor shows is currently closed. We’ll reopen it for applicants at the end of Summer 2024 for shows ready to tour from September 2025 to February 2026.

Many families said thank you for a lovely show and someone said they found the storytelling/puppet making workshop to be wonderful to see, because every single child joined in.
