Tickbox
Tickbox is a semi-autobiographical, one-woman play presented in English and Urdu. An immersive experience that combines theatre and storytelling, Tickbox tells of the journey of a middle class Pakistani family arriving in Glasgow, dealing with discrimination, racism and cultural barriers by using food and humour.
The themes of Tickbox are universal; migration, discrimination and unconscious bias. Everyone who migrates experiences discrimination and bias in some form but it’s how we react to it that makes the difference.
Tickbox was recently shortlisted in the UK Asian Media awards and Lubna has just been nominated as Scottish Asian Woman of the year.
Indian snacks and music are provided to set the scene and the performance is followed by a Q&A.
