Marcella’s tale takes a wryly humorous look at the challenges and opportunities that can arise, for all of us, in later life.

Marcella is a teacher, mother, wife and carer, in her mid sixties. Her awakening happens when a botched eBay order forces her into the loft and prompts the de-cluttering of a lifetime.

Faced with artefacts that provoke a host of vivid memories, Marcella embarks on an unexpected journey through her past. Choosing what to hold on to and what to let go of brings her close to a full-blown late life crisis.

But surrounded by seemingly discarded objects and aspirations, Marcella starts to wonder if she is still allowed a dream or two of her own.

Mary Lincoln’s professional career has spanned theatre, music theatre, improvisation, television, drama and film. In her witty one woman show she explores universal themes of parental influence, mental health, misplaced guilt, and the fear of loss of purpose.
