The Black Buoy

Welcome to The Black Buoy! Situated close to Wivenhoe Quayside, it is a Grade II listed building, with the first landlord being recorded in 1732! The pub offers a quirky interior over different levels and includes a bar, restaurant, TV and a piano for public use! Upstairs has two ensuite bedrooms for guests wishing to stay overnight. The Black Buoy boasts a beautiful outdoor area which includes a purpose-built stage for regular live music, a dartboard and snooker table and a large seating area. ‘Chopper’s Drop’ is an outdoor bar which is used during the summer months. The pub is child and dog friendly. The Black Buoy hosts regular beer festivals and always has a large range of real ale. Smashed Essex is served Tuesday-Sunday every week!
