Sheppey Little Theatre
Sheppey Little Theatre has been run by volunteers since 1975. The building is a lot older as it was opened as a church hall in 1891. It was purchased in 1969 for £1000 and after lots of hard work and help from many local businesses Sheppey Little Theatre was opened by the Minister for the Arts, Hugh Jenkins, MP on Saturday 25 October 1975. Sheppey Little Theatre is run by the community for the community.
Sheppey Little Theatre is now fully accessible for wheelchair users and others with mobility problems. Entry to the theatre foyer is via a ramp, theatre staff operate a lift to take patrons to the auditorium with space for wheelchairs. There are disabled toilets in the bar area. This work has been completed thanks to the National Lottery (lift) and Grassroots (ramp).
