Bobbie, Peter and Phyllis have been swept off to the English countryside by their Mom, who is suddenly far too busy to play.
Left to explore their new home, it’s not long before the railway calls from the bottom of the garden. As they follow the tracks to the local station, they discover a whole new world with some slightly strange characters, romance, peril and questions that definitely need answering!
Paperback Theatre specialises in fresh, modern adaptations of classic family stories. This is a fast paced and funny retelling of Edith Nesbit’s story of a family divided, a community coming together, and a mystery being solved in the rustic charm of the English countryside.
Told with just three actors, this new version by Charis McRoberts is the perfect family show – zippy enough for the little ones, with plenty of jokes, nostalgia and heartache for grown ups.
With an optional interval and intimate staging means the show suits all spaces and has no technical requirements.
