Pepe Belmonte is an independent folk-blues guitar player and singer songwriter who grew up in Co. Cork on the West coast of Ireland.
Pepe blends raw, poetic lyricism with timeless acoustic melodies to create music that resonates deep within.
Available as a solo acoustic singer songwriter or as a trio with mandolin and bouzouki.
He honed his craft on London’s acoustic circuit and has played and sold out venues. He has appeared at festivals and toured the UK. His music features in two European independent feature films, ‘Oh Beautiful Night’ (2019) and ‘The Hour of Living’ (2012) in which he also appears.
He has written, composed and performed with various musical artists including Tricky, Pete Roe, Emily Barker, BJ Cole and Daisy Palmer.
His musical influence meanders through Irish, Malian and Hawaiian folk to the pre-war blues of Chicago along The Delta and down through the lyrical landscape of Dylan, Mitchell and Young.
