When Ivy answers a call for help from a stranded worm she is led on a wild adventure!
Soon she is battling birds, meeting mystical mushrooms and discovering all the weird and wonderful creatures that come out when it’s wet. She makes her way through the forest to find Mrs Bumpting, an old toad who is ‘very into composting’. Along the way she learns the importance of home, for all of us, from the wiggliest of mini-beasts, to our very own families.
After the Rain is imaginatively staged on its own circular rotating table, and uses various types of puppetry including glove, rod and shadow puppets. It’s original music (including a barbershop quartet of singing snails, honky tonk blues solo ‘everybody needs a home’ and scar punk band ‘council of the crows’) is complimented by playful storytelling and gentle guided audience interaction to inspire curious minds and intrepid explorers.
This show is suitable for children aged 3- 7 years.
