Applause are delighted to announce an exciting new partnership with East Sussex Libraries.
Together we have collaborated with Frank Wurzinger of Tree Fellas to develop a bespoke interactive storytelling workshop, created to entertain and fire the imaginations of a young libraries audience.
Alice Hillier, Community Engagement Lead, ‘We are thrilled to be able to be supporting the Summer Reading Challenge with the show and we hope that this will be a pilot model that we can roll out to other libraries in the future.’
At Applause our priority is to bring exceptional performances and the shared experience of the arts to the heart of the local community. East Sussex Libraries’ desire was to create workshops and events to inspire young readers to participate in the Summer Reading Challenge 2021. We were confident that by working together we could assist each other in not only achieving these aims, but also providing the children with a thoroughly entertaining hour.
Really enjoyed doing something different, thank you for running this free event. Very funny, professional and interactive.

This year the Summer Reading Challenge has teamed up with WWF for a nature-themed challenge, thus the Tree Fellas were the perfect choice for the library shows. As well as being a hilarious, interactive comedy, there is also a more educational, environmental message behind this piece. For more on the Tree Fellas shows click here.
Cllr Claire Dowling, lead member for transport and the environment, East Sussex County Council said, ‘The fantastic events taking place at East Sussex libraries in August will hopefully encourage children to visit their local library during the holidays.’
Tree Fellas will be appearing at all East Sussex libraries this August and 1st September. Click here to book your free tickets.
