Manchester-based theatre company, Just Some Theatre, sets off on its first national tour later this month (February) thanks to support from Create Tour Connect.
Just Some Theatre, formed in 2012 by Jake Urry and Peter Stone, will represent the North with their new show Eyes Down travelling across the country to more than 30 rural venues.
It is part of the Create Tour Connect partnership project, led by Applause Rural Touring, to bring new shows to remote areas and address the decline in smaller cast theatre shows able to tour nationally.
Create Tour Connect, supported by £300,000 funding from Arts Council England, is expected to reach more than 12,000 people in rural communities.
Spot On is Lancashire’s rural touring network which led the selection process for choosing the show from the Northern region.
Programme Manager Lyndsey Wilson said: “Eyes Down has already proved really popular with venues wanting to book it for their 2026 seasons. It’s a very fun show and the audience will be playing real games of bingo as the whodunnit style story plays out. We’re all looking forward to the show going on tour across the country.”
Jake Urry from Just Some Theatre added: “It’s an honour to have been awarded this commission and we’re excited to be working with all the schemes involved to bring Eyes Down to life! The project will be an invaluable stepping stone for us, allowing us to reach more communities with our work in the future by building relationships with rural touring organisers nationwide.”
