Applications now open for the Applause outdoors season 2027

We are looking to support up to six new projects to tour alongside our previously commissioned work in the summer of 2027.
Now in it’s 16th year, our Outdoor Touring programme offers companies and artists with an established interest in and track record of working outdoors, to be part of our small-scale programme. There are opportunities for the commission of new work and to support existing shows that require further development, alongside touring dates to our 100 host promoters across Kent, Sussex and Essex throughout May-October 2027.
All ideas are welcome, including work that responds to key cultural events happening in 2027, those that include community engagement in the development process or are participatory. Work that focusses on sustainability issues and the environment is very popular as well as those that relate to rural/community life.
Commission/development fees ranging from £500-£5000 are available.
Shows can be walkabout, static, interactive, durational or installations and should be enjoyed by all ages.
