This Summer, Applause and Theatre 31 are proudly partnering with The Place – London Contemporary Dance School to take two fantastic dance shows directly to local school playgrounds to inspire and entertain kids!
The innovative playground project will transform school playgrounds into open-air theatres for a day.
The tour will include two short pieces in a 40-minute double-bill: How To Build A Universe by Extended Play and Deva by Urja Desai Thakore! The new shows will be created specifically with primary aged young people in mind and fully accessible so that as many pupils as possible can view the work.
Applause will be delivering the shows to two schools in Medway this July, with the support of Theatre31.
How To Build A Universe by Extended Play
Reimagining the formation of our universe and planet through playfulness and creativity, How to Build a Universe invites children to participate by dancing along to lively music with two energetic performers.
Deva by Pagrav Dance
Playful and engaging, two Indian classical performers will inspire young audiences to think differently and get creative with movement themselves, in an original, narrative-led dance piece.
