The Ukulele Apothecary
The bright colours and the vintage style of the Ukulele Apothecary will likely catch your eye! If not, you’ll probably hear them coming, playing their ukuleles and trumpet kazoos as they stride into view looking for people to make friends with, bring a smile to, pass the joy to.
Instead of dispensing herbs and medicine like a traditional apothecary, these clowns dispense music and silliness. Stopping for a short while with an individual or couple, staying longer with a larger family group or allowing people to gather around them.
First they need to check vital statistics, give you the once over. Check your wellness with their stethoscopes, blood pressure monitors and put you through some rigorous reaction tests (catching balls, timed star jumps, press ups, singing different notes, copying a dance move) until they finally decide on the perfect remedy for you. A song. It will always be a song!
You will then be serenaded with humour and harmony. Perhaps their work will then be done or perhaps more musical medicine will be required.
In most cases it will be vital for you and your group to learn to play the ukulele too. With just a couple of simple chords a song can be played and a new skill is begun.
